Scottish Film Talent Network- Selection

My good news to start 2015 is I’ve been selected for the new shorts scheme with the SFTN.
My project, which I will reveal more about in time, is one of 14 projects selected from all over Scotland. It wasn’t long between announcement and the first workshop- so I’m diving straight into the development process, which I’m hoping will not just be about working on story structure etc, but learning a lot about my subject matter. There are bad scripts, and then there are very well researched scripts. As far as I can tell there’s nothing in the middle.

As inspiration through this sharp end process I’ve got a short film from the last scheme to look up to. Cara Connelly and Martin Clark’s Exchange and Mart was just an amazingly deep, funny, innovative little bombshell in the short film world, if I could do anything three quarters as good, I’d be very happy (I feel half as good wouldn’t quiet cut the mustard). But still, something to aspire to. I look forward to seeing what they cook up next. Ok, I’ve got a lot of work to get on with, better get going.

I once got mistaken as the girl on the left, that's what I get for wearing a sanitary towel on my head...
